Photos of Hannie Schaft
The North Holland Archives has received five new photos showing Hannie Schaft with Jopie Wassink (1923-2004).
Much remains unclear about these photos. They are believed to have been taken during a vacation in 1940 or 1941. Hannie and Jopie weren’t in school together, but they were clearly friends. They are pictured arm in arm.

The photos come from the Wassink family album. The donor is Gerhard Wassink, a cousin of Jopie. What’s special about these photos is that we see a relaxed and happy Hannie Schaft.
